Draftix Launches New Web-Based System For Season Ticket Sharing
Bethesda, Md. (PRWEB) February 26, 2008 -- Draftix, the only site for season ticket groups, today released the commercial version of its season ticket sharing system. The release replaces the beta version of the site launched in February 2007. Draftix helps users create groups online to divide and share season tickets. Based on proprietary technology, Draftix users can use the site to find new ticket partners and manage ticket packages from the Draftix web site.
Season tickets are a costly purchase and generally include a large number of tickets. To keep them affordable, most fans split them amongst a group. Draftix is the only web site that serves the unique needs of season ticket groups. Using Draftix, fans can use online networking to find new season ticket partners, invite friends to join their group, and hold their season ticket draft online. Draftix also maintains ticket schedules for the group and provides other tools, such as monetary exchange and dispute resolution.
"I like owning Washington Nationals season tickets, but I can't use that many tickets by myself," according to Al Girod, a Draftix user. "So, I run a season ticket group on Draftix with eighteen partners that share eight tickets. Running the group the traditional way always took a lot of time and finding a date to get together for the ticket draft was hard. For the last two years I've used Draftix which automates the group for us including holding our ticket draft online. It's much easier now."
Draftix uses Web 2.0 and social networking technologies to enhance how season ticket groups are managed. Groups are created on the site by users who choose whether they want to make them private- for invited participants only- or if they also want to permit users they don't know to buy into the group. Draftix provides a marketplace that is governed by rules, processes, and proprietary tools to facilitate and ensure fairness in the transaction.
The Draftix system supports most professional and college-level sports teams including those in the National Basketball Association, the National Football League, the National Hockey League, Major League Baseball and NCAA Basketball and Football.
"With this new release we enhanced the system with lessons learned in our beta tests. The new site simplifies user interaction and makes running a season ticket group even easier," said Mike Tobin, founder and CEO of Draftix. "We had a very successful beta test period and saw a lot of positive feedback from season ticket groups. The feedback reinforced our belief that there is a significant demand for the Draftix system. Now that we have rolled out the commercial version, we will aggressively market the site and continue with feature enhancements."
Draftix was founded in 2005 by Mike Tobin, Brian Katz and Marc Simoncelli. Together, they bring with them decades of experience in software engineering, information technology management and corporate marketing. All have experience in launching successful start-up companies as well as in supporting mature businesses.
