Where's the party at? MindSmack.com was contracted to design and develop this high-impact flash website complete with After Effects video animation and a media player that showcases the awesome FLAVOR TRIP video.

Second Place Winner

"No More Kings" designed by Astonish Records

Promotional website for a new music artists that incorporates the music artists drawings into a flash environment. The site is very interactive and is consistent with the fun atmosphere their music provides.

Third Place Winner

"Nick & Mo Women's Apparel" designed by Open Interactive

This is a website for women's apparel company Nick & Mo featuring Flash 8 blur transitions, externally loaded content and images in a unique interactive landscape that demonstrates the youthful mindset of the clothing line.

Honorable Mention

- "Darfur is Dying" designed by interFUEL

- "The Invention Band Website" designed by Stylefrog Creative

- "Lounge Lizard Interactive" designed by Lounge Lizard

- "Clockwork Active Media Systems" designed by Clockwork

Prizes included a Sony PS3, a Microsoft XBOX, iPOD, a copy of Windows Vista, a Sony PSP and a few Nikon digital cameras. The winners will also receive a crystal award and free advertising on the DesignFirms website.

"We would like to thank all of the designers that applied for the first competition. It was a great one!" said Scott Seiter, operations manager at DesignFirms. "Next year will be bigger and better. You will see a wider range of prizes and like this year, awesome websites. So if you didn't participate this year, next year is your year!"

Since early 2004, DesignFirms has showcased some of the best websites (http://www.designfirms.org/awards/) on the Internet. The awards have grown since with over 3,000 sites awarded. "We have big plans for the awards." Scott said. "We've been searching for a way to reward the best for being the best. There are a multitude of sites that were designed by someone with access to a free website builder. I feel it's time to let the real professionals handle the real building of the web and award them for doing it right."

The 2008 competition (http://www.designfirms.org/awards/competition/2008/) will start on January 1st, 2008.
